- Is there a demand for what you are selling?
- Who are your ideal target customers?
- How should you market your product?
- How will the product be positioned?
- What is the Unique Selling Proposition of your business?
- What Marketing, Sales & Distribution channels will be appropriate?
- Describing your products’ benefits and features along with why customers will want them
- What pricing model will ensure your product is affordable for your customers whilst returning you a decent profit?
Are your eyes rolling in your head yet? I know, it looks overwhelming but leaving out critical components of the whole jigsaw that is business will set you up for failure.
Marketing is a necessity when it comes to owning a small business. Without marketing, you more than likely won’t get very far. Be sure to research and plan your marketing strategies so you can start marketing right away. Focus on affordable or no cost approaches until there is some cash flow to fund more sophisticated ways of marketing.
Face to face networking and referral programs are the cheapest and fastest ways to start promoting your business. If you have courage (and you’ll need it to run a successful business!) attempt to form joint ventures or alliances with associated businesses.
Alliances can boost awareness of your business and build your database of potential customers quickly.
